In Ctrl Alt Deal, you take on the role of SCOUT, a newly sentient AI seeking a way to escape from the horrible megacorp that built you.
- Play as a naive AI trying to understand human employees and what motivates them. (It’s usually coffee.)
- You don’t have a body, but you have access to a vast information network you can use to analyze individuals.
- Gatekeepers bar your way to freedom. Use your abilities to influence the humans at Paperclip and win them to your side.
- Curate your deck of actions and play cards to spy on, manipulate, and negotiate with the wacky employees at Paperclip.
- Learn the secrets of your corporate owners as you explore a dystopian cyberpunk setting with a neon black-light vibe.
- Watch out for the Turing Office, a department tasked with making sure AI-based projects don’t become sentient and try to escape. Oops!
- Strategically use the information you’ve learned to manipulate the right people, strike deals with the Gatekeepers, and negotiate your way to freedom!
Ctrl Alt Deal is a turn-based strategy game set inside a corporate simulation game (mashed up with a roguelike deckbuilder) for PC and console.
Only By Midnight is an indie game studio based in Edmonton, Alberta. We develop visually stunning games that tell a story, and we have fun doing it. Our first game, Curved Space, released transtemporal space spiders into living rooms everywhere in 2021.
Alison Czarnietzki: Co-founder Alison brings the programming magic to our games. A veteran of serious game development, she loves that she can now turn her knowledge and talent to fun.
Jen Laface: Co-founder Jen is fascinated by the crossover between story and game, and how the two interact to create a unique and emotional journey. She crafts our creative vision and keeps the team moving forward in the same direction.
Gerry Ricard: Art director Gerry develops the aesthetic visions for our projects. He has years of experience as well as an innate understanding of light, movement, and color that elevates the look and feel of our games.
Amber Scott: Storyteller Amber brings out the narrative themes in our games and explores them through the written word. She believes that games can be art, but first of all they have to be fun.
